Policy development – Tellus engages stakeholders and cultivates relationships to build support for policy development. Our policy experts foster a spirit of mutual trust, confidence, and openness between the agencies we represent and the public. We conduct extensive research on state-of-the-science and policy approaches, compile disparate sources of data, conduct trend analysis, and build knowledge graphs of relevant data to inform policy development. We foster an openness and engagement of all voices to include underserved communities.

Community engagement, revitalization, and environmental justice – Our team develops strategies to improve neighborhoods, towns, and cities through environmental, redevelopment, economic diversification and revitalization, clean air and water strategies, and green infrastructure. Utilizing publicly available environmental justice tools and consulting with local agencies, we identify and prioritize disadvantaged communities and other communities of concern. We coordinate with community organizations to conduct surveys, meetings, and other engagement activities to inform projects that address environmental justice issues.

Outreach and communications – The key to successful outreach and communications is creating clear, concise, and consistent outreach materials, messaging, and social media plans that take into account target audiences and long-term intended outcomes. Our team has extensive experience with framing and developing messaging—underscoring simple and concise messages—that communicate environmental science in easy-to-digest doses. We combine our messaging with powerful imagery and data visualization to create a variety of outreach materials for web and print purposes, such as web content, social media posts, fact sheets, brochures, handbooks and manuals, presentations, and reports.

Training and education – We develop training manuals and educational materials, as well as conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions for a wide array of environmental and clean energy topics, incorporating both policy and technical components. We tailor training to industry-specific circumstances and gather requirements in consultation with our clients and other appropriate stakeholders at the onset of planning for training sessions. Our trainers provide insights into current and upcoming regulations, policies and guidance at the federal, state, tribal and local level.

Facilitation of forums, conferences, workshops, and task force planning and logistics – We provide seasoned event organizers and facilitators to support our clients through streamlined planning processes that result in the seamless execution of in-person and virtual events for diverse stakeholders both domestically and internationally. We apply tried and true planning tools to ensure events are produced on schedule and deliver desired outcomes. We assist with everything from developing agendas and identifying speakers, to supporting logistics, such as venue management and lodging. For virtual events, we help determine the appropriate online platform, build out the selected platform, and conduct technical checks in advance of event execution.
